Using Bad Words

I just got off the phone with my mother and she made a couple comments on my blog. first, she didn’t like my use of profanity in my writing. so i will now make a conscious effort not to swear anymore. secondly, she thought my writings should be more grammatically correct…..i’ll concede on the curse words but i isn’t gonna make the effort to change my punxuation, gramor or spelin’……….after all a blog is journal, ain’t it?

This is a new blog i just made for the organization ESTIA. ESTIA is an ‘environment’ oriented group out of Orono, based on campus right now. our goals are to help people develop sustainable communities and eco-peace villages. i’ve been volunteering for estia for about six months and i’m still not sure what it is we really do.

this blog was based from an attractive template i found. i just went in and adjusted the css a little to tweak it to my liking. that’s another thing about doing websites for groups of people. what do they like. no one can ever decide, so i take it upon myself to do the layouts and color scheme. i personally think it looks good, but i’m the type of guy who’d where white socks with a tux, i dont do colors well. so i get very self(site) conscious when i do sites for people. but oh well, if they don’t like it they can do there own @$#%ing site, I am a volunteer.

here is the main site for estia
i should get paid big bucks for the beautiful layout of this site…….. it’s none too impressive but there are worse

Assignment #2

May favorite part of this assignment was fixing up the old photos with the rubber stamp tool. as far as the color correction, i really had no idea what i was doing. i just pushed the curves around until i saw something ‘better’. the problem with that was i had no idea of what the photos were supposed to look like. i guess it is completely subjective, when you’re not working for someone.

Confessions of an Economic Hit Man

i finished this book up today. quite an eye opening story of how american “corportocracy” has raped the resources of the world for the past 60 years. i knew something was afoul with american foreign policy, i just had now idea how fucked up it was. what gives this book so much weight is the fact that the author was a partner in one of the firms doing a lot of the damage.
a book worth reading.

i am a university studies major at orono, finnishing my degree some point this year. i started at maine in 97 as a spatial information major and 4 years later dropped out because of an illness. here i am four years later finnishing up my degree. i had to switch my major to univ. studies because they cancelled the spatial undergradp program.

me

in my time off from school i had worked as the public access tv coordinator and web guy for the city of old town. it was a great job where i had sole access to $100k worth of video equipment and my job was to create a television station for the city, local school department and a public access station for the citizens of old town. a job i’m sure many students in the new media department would love to cut their teeth on. for two years working there i acclomplished absolutely nothing. i’d broadcast a city council meeting twice monthly and that was about it. i passed up an amazing oppurtunity, one of my only real regrets in life…..i dropped the ball…..

i can’t find a spell check option on wordpress……..
