Assignment #2

May favorite part of this assignment was fixing up the old photos with the rubber stamp tool. as far as the color correction, i really had no idea what i was doing. i just pushed the curves around until i saw something ‘better’. the problem with that was i had no idea of what the photos were supposed to look like. i guess it is completely subjective, when you’re not working for someone.

  1. When I first saw the image “Deal” I thought that there wasn’t too much that needed to be done with it. But after seeing the changes you made to it, it’s clear to see that it definitely needed some adjustments. It looks a lot better

  2. Deal is actually the hardest image to color correct, because it is too brown. The colors are totally wrong in this image and can’t be fixed without going into the individual RGB channels in the Curves palette, pinpointing specific ranges of colors and adjusting all three channels extensively. I just put it in here to be a stinker!

Nice job with all the images. It is nice to see you didn’t shy away from the more challenging ones! I think I’d go a little further stamping out the dust & scratches on the Two Women image. On the Old Couple image, try reducing the saturation. Go under Image: Adjust: Hue and Saturation and drag the Saturation slider to the left. This will get rid of that distracting yellowishness.
