Assignment #3-Clinton this time

I came up with the idea for this montage watching matts tutotial on clipping. I like how when applying the inner shadow it made the page look like there was a hole in it. I didnt end up using the clipping technique. I created a new transparent layer, painted the burnt hole on and added the inner shadow to that layer. I then set the layer between the photo of monica and the text. I got the image of monica, the cigar and the gif of bill doing a google image search. i realize that theyre all most likely copyrighted, i’ll have to let using copyrighted photos weigh on my conscience for now, for the sake of art. I decided to do clinton because i dont want to come off as just a bush basher.

Assignment #3-Photmontage

1. Using only two objects or environments combine them so that the new composite is more than the sum of its parts.

2. Using at least three source images and text create a photomontage that communicates a message about a political or social issue that you are concerned with.

This was a montage I put together a few months back. It originally a picture of the two kids sitting next to a gnome. I tried to think ‘what is scarier than a gnome’? I put this photo together with Macromedia Fireworks MX2004. I’d been using fireworks for the past five years and always had felt like I should switch to Photoshop. This class gave me the oppurtunity to do so and matts tutorials made the transition that much easier. The switch was inevitable since Adobe bought Macromedia this summer and I can only imagine they’re going to scrap fireworks. Photoshop is a much deeper program and do enjoy using it.
