Mascot
The Old Town High School board recently voted to eliminate the Indian as its mascot. This was done out of repect for the native Penobscots. The mascot has been an issue for as long as I can remember. The debate never became to instense but it’s been kind of interesting to follow. I myself was on the fence over this issue. On the Penobscot revervation (which is an upsettingly small piece of land, thats another issue altogether) there is a Bingo Palace.
